Weekend Camping Trip...

One thing is certain when I leave a trip to be planned by selected friends, they do all kinds of wonders to it. Bingo for this trip. While the planners started the process some 2 weeks earlier, the executors didn't give a confirmation till the last hour of Friday whether we got to go or not. So with an old friend I had to confirm time and again that no matter what we were going.

Now the problem starts. People coming from three different directions, need to get together. Add to it picking up supplies for the camp. Even bigger. Somehow we got to manage that, will think of something next time. Being the first ones at the camp, I and my old friend had to go back and forth from the campsite to civilization, and network coverage to guide people to the site. What had to be complete by 1400 hrs, was only feasible by 1800 hrs. Yes we got together and tried to settle down. That's when the fund starts.

Usual campers aren't used to commotion. And as far as I remember, we aren't used to silence either. People were confused, 10 people setting up tents, shifting tents from one location to other (4 people holding the tent already set up), etc. Think of the torture to the other campers. Of course not to mention the delight. Something strange for them. Once the tents were done, needed food, for the night was approaching fast. Add to the condition that silence from 2200 hrs to lights out at 2300 hrs. All throughout was utilizing my Ka-Bar to the fullest, lovely knife.

Grill, marinated chicken, sausages, lamb. Yummy. Chips and coke - great. Just had problems in getting everything done in time. Grilled food, birthday bash, camp-fire, and add to it friends meeting after a long time. Great time. I still remember couple of friends prying up to the of the two tents and scaring the blues out of the occupants. Didn't dare to scare the other campers, for you never know they had arrangements for such. No one dared to come up to my tent fearing unintended backlash by the Ka-Bar... :)

Fun frolicking continued till late night and morning was as usual late, packing stuff after some wonderful tea in the jungle. The last stop was a waterfalls nearby, exciting place with a hiking path up to the origin of the falls. Too good a moment to be with good friends, too bad it ends. With a hope to meet again, some place, some time. :)
